Katie Beyer is currently in her second year at UC Hastings College of the Law and has a concentration in Law and Health Sciences. She has received two CALI Awards for Academic Excellence and is a member of the Hastings Law Journal. In addition to her work for the Source, Katie is also an intern at the California Department of Justice, Office of Healthcare, Education, and Welfare, Civil Division. Katie received her B.A. degrees in Global Health and Political Science; and minor in Music from the University of Washington. Prior to her studies at UC Hastings, Katie worked for United States Senator Patty Murray in Washington D.C. assisting the healthcare and women’s right legislative aides. She then became an executive assistant at Washinton2Advocates, a government and public affairs consulting firm, where she worked on a variety of state and federal policies issues.
