On February 25, 2011, the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division and the Texas Attorney General’s Office filed a complaint against, and proposed settlement with, United Regional Health Care System of Wichita Falls, Texas alleging that United Regional had violated the Sherman Act’s anti-monopolization provisions by entering into contracts that improperly inhibited commercial health insurers from contracting with United Regional’s competitors. The parties reached a final settlement later that year in September. Find the DOJ case summary and relevant documents here.
