State Department of State Hospitals: facility expansion: report.
Existing law establishes the State Department of State Hospitals and provides that the department has jurisdiction over the specified facilities, including, among others, Atascadero, Coalinga, Metropolitan, Napa, and Patton State Hospitals.
This bill would require the department to submit a report to the Legislature no later than August 1, 2022, regarding the anticipated cost of expanding the capacity of its facilities to reduce wait times for patients to be admitted to a department facility to a variety of levels. The bill would repeal this provision on January 1, 2026.
