The aim of the act is to enhance consumers ability to be more informed about their health care costs. Sections include the required disclosures by health care entities of cost estimates of certain care and requirements of health insurance companies to provide estimate of out-of-pocket amount, as well as provisions on shared saving incentive payment programs.
