New York’s general antitrust statute that prohibits “every contract, agreement, arrangement or combination“ that establishes or maintains a monopoly that restrains competition. Although the statute has a number of exceptions, the law generally applies to entities in the healthcare markets, including those engaging in the insurance business. The statute also discusses several procedural requirements and limitations to commencing an action: statute of limitations, amount of recoverable damages, notice, and standing.
