No compensation shall be charged or received by the admitting officer, or by the medical faculty or by the physician, surgeon or nurses of the university hospital who shall treat and care for the patients, other than the salaries received by them provided by the board of regents of the university. If any such patient has medical or surgical insurance coverage the university hospital may then charge for the service of its medical and surgical staff in amounts not to exceed the amounts available from such insurance coverage
