Review agents shall make general initial determinations within 2 business days and promptly notify the provider of the decision. For emergency inpatient admission, or an admission for residential crisis services e, for the treatment of a mental, emotional, or substance abuse disorder, the private review agent shall make determinations within 2 hours and promptly notify the provider.
