This bill proposes a new law in Minnesota to prohibit the abuse of dominance in trade regulations. The term “abuse of dominance” refers to a company using its power to distort competition in the market for its own advantage. The bill makes it unlawful for any individual or entity with a dominant position in business, trade, commerce or labor market, or in furnishing a service, to misuse their power. The evidence of dominance can be direct or indirect, like ability to set prices unilaterally, use of noncompete clauses, or having a sizeable share in a relevant market.
