Pharmacists; authorize to provide patient care services and authorize insurance reimbursement for. An Act To Amend Section 73-21-73, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Revise The Definition Of The Term “practice Of Pharmacy” In The Pharmacy Practice Act To Include The Providing Of Patient Care Services; To Create New Section 73-21-131, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Authorize Pharmacists To Provide Approved Patient Care Services In Accordance With Rules Adopted By The State Board Of Pharmacy And Pursuant To A Protocol With A Health Care Provider Authorized By Law To Diagnose And Prescribe Drugs; To Create New Section 83-41-221, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide That Whenever Any Insurance Policy Issued In This State Provides For Payment Or Reimbursement For Any Service That Is Within The Lawful Scope Of Practice Of A Duly Licensed Pharmacist, The Insured Or Other Person Entitled To Benefits Under That Policy May Be Paid Or Reimbursed For That Service When The Service Is Performed By A Duly Licensed Pharmacist; And For Related Purposes.
