This bill amends the Health Care Facilities Act to require hospitals to publicly disclose their standard charges for all hospital items and services, including the gross charge, negotiated charges with third-party payors, and discounted cash prices. It also requires hospitals to maintain a list of standard charges for at least 300 “shoppable services” that can be scheduled in advance. The bill prohibits hospitals that are not in compliance with these price transparency requirements from taking collection actions against patients for debts owed.
