Physician assistants; physician assistants, temporary license and construction of act; collaborative practice; primary care provider; billing; insurance; liability. HB 1735 modifies the duties of a physician assistant by providing for a collaborative partnership with a licensed physician or physicians. The practice agreement agreed to by the physician assistant and physician shall determine the scope of practice for the assistant based on his or her skill, education, training, and experience. A physician assistant may a practice agreement with multiple physicians. Compensation for services performed by a physician assistant shall be paid to the assistant if the same service would have been covered if ordered by a physician. Services
performed by a physician assistant shall identify the assistant as the rendering professional.
