Cal. Health & Safety Code § 101300. Operation of public health service by department; contracts with specified counties; county obligations: Local Public Health Service Contract Options – California

The board of supervisors of a county with a population of less than 50,000 may enter into a contract with the department and the department may enter into a contract with that county to organize and operate a local public health service in that county. The Legislature hereby determines that an expedited contract process for contracts under this section is necessary. Contracts under this section shall be exempt from Chapter 2 (commencing with Section 10290) of Part 2 of Division 2 of the Public Contract Code
