Statute sets per diem rate to be paid to a hospital for inpatient psychiatric services and sets reimbursement rates for psychiatric and behavioral health services in or by community mental health centers. Statutes require the Department of Healthcare and Family Services to apply for any waiver or state plan amendment, and implementation of the reimbursement rates shall be contingent on federal approval. Statutes also allocate $40,000,000 to enhance psychiatric treatment, including reimbursement rates, if approved by the federal government.
