Health insurance; capping copay for insulin prescription. Effective date. SB 1158 requires insurance carriers providing coverage for insulin to cap the total amount that a covered person is required to pay for each covered insulin prescription at an amount that shall not exceed $100.00 per 30-day supply of insulin. The measure clarifies that carriers may reduce the cost-sharing of a covered person to below the $100.00 limit. The Insurance Commissioner is directed to ensure all carriers comply with the requirements of the measure.
