The commissioner shall have the following powers and duties: 1. to promulgate regulations defining and restricting the duties which may be assigned to physician assistancts by their supervising physician, the degree of supervision required and the manner in which such duties may be performed; 2. to conduct and support continuing studies respecting the nature and scope of the duties of physician assistants in order to promote their effective functioning as members of the health care team.
