An insurance provider or issuer cannot exclude coverage for a service provided by a healthcare provider solely because that service is provided via telemedicine and not in person. Requires any issuer of a health benefit plan to include a statement about the issuer’s policy on reimbursement and copayments for telehealth services. The statement must be displayed in a conspicuous manner. Outlines the entities that transparency in telehealth applies to including any individual, franchise, insurance policy or insurance group that provides benefits for medical or surgical conditions, or any type of health benefit. This includes both insurance companies and MEWAs.
