This bill prohibits health carriers from establishing payment or reimbursement provisions based solely on a participating provider’s licensure. This means that health insurance companies cannot set different payment rates or reimbursement levels for healthcare providers solely based on their professional license, such as whether they are an advanced practice registered nurse or have a different type of license. The bill aims to ensure that providers are compensated fairly regardless of their specific licensure. The bill will take effect on January 1, 2025.
