Enacting the healthcare price disclosure act. SB 281 would establish the Healthcare Price Disclosure Act, which would require healthcare professionals and healthcare facilities to make available to the public, upon request, the direct pay price for common services. Healthcare professionals must make available in a single document the direct pay price for at least the 25 most common services. Healthcare facilities must make available in a single document the direct pay price for at least the 50 most common diagnosisrelated group codes and at least the 50 most common outpatient service codes. Healthcare facilities
would not be required to report direct pay prices to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
