This bill requires healthcare facilities to maintain and publicly disclose a list of all their standard charges for medical facility items or services, including the gross charge, payor-specific negotiated charges, minimum and maximum negotiated charges, and discounted cash prices. The bill also requires facilities to maintain and publish a consumer-friendly list of standard charges for at least 300 “shoppable services” that patients can schedule in advance. The bill empowers a state health and human services commission to monitor compliance, issue notices of violations, request corrective action plans, and impose administrative penalties on facilities that fail to comply.
