This bill establishes procedures for the use of artificial intelligence (AI) by healthcare entities and professionals in Louisiana. The key provisions are: 1. Healthcare entities are prohibited from making patient care decisions solely based on the results derived from the use of AI. 2. Healthcare professionals must review any healthcare decision made by or with the use of AI and can override such decisions. 3. The bill defines “artificial intelligence” as an artificial system developed in computer software, hardware, or other context that solves tasks requiring human-like perception, cognition, planning, learning, communication, or physical action. It also defines “healthcare entity” and “healthcare professional” for the purposes of the law.
