Laura Hagen, J.D., is a Health Policy Research Fellow for the UCSF/UC Hastings Consortium and is currently working on The Source to establish a database of state laws and regulations governing price transparency, provider market power, provider payment, provider networks and health insurance benefit design. She also maintains the UCSF/UC Hastings Consortium website, and edits and updates the Health Law casebook. In 2017, she maintained the Health Reform Tracker, including designing the website, writing articles and summaries on national and Californian health care reform efforts, and helping the Consortium and its affiliates run events related to the Tracker. Prior to joining the Consortium, Laura attended the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where she graduated with a concentration in law and health sciences. While at UC Hastings, Laura researched Food and Drug Administration regulations and their practical effects on the industry. Her work has been published in the American Bar Association’s The Health Lawyer and has been honored with the first place prize for the 18th Annual Epstein Becker Green Health Law Writing Competition.
