The “Hospital Report Card Act,” requires hospitals to issue periodic reports containing quality information respecting infection rates and nursing staff levels. The Department of Public Health shall compile the information acquired under the act and make comparative reports available to licensed hospitals. The Act affords whistleblower protection and prohibitions retaliation against an employee who discloses to an outside agency a practice that the employee reasonably believes poses a risk to health or safety of a patient or the public.
